What lies ahead for E-commerce?
On April 18, the “Future of E-commerce” conference, organized by Kammedia and AKAT Consulting, took place, with Salestube powered by hmmh playing an active role as a partner. One of the highlights was a keynote presentation by Łukasz Białonoga, E-commerce Managing Partner at Salestube powered by hmmh.
We place great value on events like these because the E-commerce industry is constantly evolving at an incredible pace. Each conference provides a fantastic opportunity to exchange insights and experiences. This event was no exception, with much of the discussion focused on the current and ever-changing trends in E-commerce.
We must also acknowledge Kamila Gębik and Tomasz Kurek for their vision, dedication, and exceptional organizational skills in bringing this conference to life. A notable moment was the promotion of the book “Przyszłość E-commerce” (“The Future of E-commerce”) by Kamila Gębik, which we highly recommend to anyone in the E-commerce field. We’ve already got our copy!

At the conference, Łukasz Białonoga teamed up with Kacper Gugała from Shopware to present a talk titled “Well-suited technology as the key to the development of the E‑commerce business of the future”.

Their presentation centered on two key topics. The first was the critical importance of selecting the right technology when launching a new E-commerce project. According to Łukasz and Kacper, while it’s possible to handle this independently, it’s essential to follow a few fundamental principles:
- The solution offered by a company should have a solid market presence.
- It should be supported by a network of partners that allow for tool adaptation to the specific business needs.
- In a rapidly evolving industry, partnering with someone who stays on top of trends and actively seeks out new solutions is crucial.
- The company should ideally have an OpenSource version or an active community.
- Access to marketplaces or extension stores is another important factor to consider when evaluating a potential partner.
The second focus of their talk was the future direction of the E-commerce industry. Łukasz and Kacper were clear: the industry is headed toward specialized tools, a much broader ecosystem, increased efficiency, and greater scalability—developments that are essential as the industry continues to grow.
However, the standout idea from their presentation was the notion that E-commerce will soon become a borderless industry. To maintain a stable and successful E-commerce operation, it’s crucial to avoid common pitfalls and ensure the right setup.
This bold hypothesis, while ambitious, seems very plausible given the current trajectory of the industry.
The conference also provided ample networking opportunities, allowing us to connect with other attendees and engage in meaningful discussions. One presentation that particularly resonated with us was “AI – Can it help E-commerce today?” by Artur Pajkert, which explored the benefits and challenges of AI in a captivating manner.
I love it when events like this one offer such a substantive value beyond the usually entertaining networking opportunities, which was the case this time as well. We’re leaving with plenty of new relations and ideas on how we can help our clients develop their e‑commerce businesses.

Another talk that left a strong impression was James Gover’s “How live streaming can change your business.” He offered a compelling vision of how E-commerce is evolving, highlighting the growing influence of video content sales, a trend already well-established in the US and China. It was a thought-provoking session.
We’re thrilled to have been a partner for the “Future of E-commerce” conference and look forward to participating in future events like this one.
